Summer 2013
Summer 2013 at Denison University was Full of Activity for Lincoln

Huffman Dining Hall

This summer at Denison we were busy finishing up the final phase of Mitchell Athletic and Recreation Center as well as starting and finishing the renovation of Huffman Dining Hall and Stone Hall.

In our 20 plus year relationship with Denison this is the third project at Huffman Hall and the most extensive renovation.  The project included renovation of nearly 20,000SF of the dining hall and construction of the new main entry.  The existing space was completely demolished and replaced with state of the art kitchen equipment that winds through the space to form various cooking stations as well as a new dining space that complements the various eateries.  Another aspect of the project that is not visible to the public was the replacement of all the mechanical, electric and plumbing elements of the building.   We are thrilled with the end result and hearing some of the student’s excitement when entering the hall is rewarding for our team.

The renovation of Stone Hall was simultaneously happening across campus.  This project transformed the existing living spaces of the hall into apartment style dorms rooms.  In order for this to happen we had to upgrade the mechanical, electric and plumbing for this building as well.

At Mitchell Athletic and Recreation Center the natatorium and athletic offices are in full use, while the third and final phase of the project is wrapping up.  The final phase of this project includes the completion of the new training rooms, fitness center, classrooms, equipment storage area and laundry room.  We have been involved with this project since the preconstruction phase in 2008; it’s tremendous to see the final product.
