Pre-construction Project Manager

Lincoln Construction is currently seeking a Pre-construction Project Manager to help develop clients and manage projects during the pre-construction phase.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience with a Construction Management firm in project management and/or development experience.  In lieu of a degree in engineering or construction management, 8+ years of management experience is desired with strong field experience.  Field experience such as superintendent, carpentry, MEP, or other—is highly desired for this position.  We anticipate that the candidate will have experience on projects over $5 million in size and complexity.

Our marketing and pre-construction process is very collaborative, and the Pre-construction Project Manager is expected to manage this process and the relationships.  This team member excels in working collaboratively with clients, subcontractors, architects, and other professionals.  This role is responsible for developing and implementing pre-construction schedules, writing MEP proposals, and frequently working with local building officials. The ideal candidate should also feel comfortable with checking progress drawings, running meetings, and pushing the process to meet dates.  We anticipate that the candidate will have extensive experience developing value engineering and constructability analysis.

Laborer/Rough Carpenter

Lincoln Construction is currently seeking a Commercial Construction Laborer/Rough Carpenter in Columbus, Ohio.

Primary Purpose

Assist the field team with on the job tasks that may require basic carpentry skills, job site cleaning, demolition, stocking materials, and able to work without supervision.  Experience on a commercial construction site is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Lifts, carries and holds building materials and supplies.
  • Cleans tools, equipment, materials and work area.
  • Able to follow specific instructions.
  • Able to perform a variety of duties that change often and  repeat tasks of short duration according to set procedures.
  • Able to read and understand measuring tools and levels.
  • Able to physically stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Able to use arms and hands to reach for and manipulate objects.
  • Able to lift and carry materials weighing 100 pounds.
  • Able to climb up and down ladders, scaffolding and other objects.
  • Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, see and hear (naturally or with correction).
  • Adheres to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Works harmoniously, cooperatively and courteously with others at all times.
  • Performs miscellaneous other duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Commercial construction site experience is preferred.
  • High school diploma and on the job training required.

Assistant Controller

Lincoln is seeking a highly-motivated and organized Assistant Controller to join our team. The Assistant Controller will work with the Lincoln financial team on all aspects of accounting, including but not limited to financial bookkeeping, budget management, internal controls, and reporting/compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills and work well in a team environment.

This position will be based in Columbus, Ohio and report to the Controller.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll
  • Reconcile monthly credit card statements and manage related documentation
  • Review, approve, and pay invoices
  • Manage incoming checks and record payments
  • Facilitate processes surrounding accounting documentation; collect and analyze insurance coverage documents, waivers, and affidavits
  • Work with the Controller and team members to identify or resolve billing issues

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Experience with AP/AR tasks and bank draws
  • Strong business acumen and communication skills in order to work effectively with upper management, clients, and field operations as needed
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and while under tight deadlines
  • Construction industry experience preferred but not required

Carpenter

Lincoln is currently looking for a skilled Carpenter to assist the superintendent with any needs on the project that may require basic – finish carpentry skills, installation of panic hardware, hang doors, acoustical ceiling, reading plans, cleaning the site, and able to work without supervision. Experience on a commercial construction site is a requirement. All positions at Lincoln require passing an initial background check including drug test and is subject to random drug testing.

Primary Purpose

Assist Superintendent with any needs on the job that may require basic – finish carpentry skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools such as sawing, erecting and dismantling scaffolding, shoring and braces, cutting, and  attaching insulation material and demolition.
  • Applies caulking compound by hand or with caulking gun to seal surfaces.
  • Lifts, carries and holds building materials and supplies, levels earth to fine grade using pick and shovel and measures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes and stretches tight line.
  • Grinds, sands and polishes surfaces such as concrete or wood.
  • Basic block /patching, concrete skills, patching & placing.
  • Cleans tools, equipment, materials and work area.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Works harmoniously, cooperatively and courteously with others at all times.
  • Performs miscellaneous other duties and responsibilities as required.
