Construction Remains Strong as Simpson Strong-Tie Continues to Expand

The site work has commenced on the new 50-acre, 300,000 square foot expansion for the Simpson Strong-Tie Columbus plant.  Lincoln was the construction manager for the original manufacturing facility and two expansions starting in 1989.  Lincoln was retained by Simpson for the pre-construction services to address not only budgets, schedules, and soft costs but to manage the redesign of existing wetlands, utilities, and easements along with City zoning and permitting. 

The new addition will include a multi-story, 60,000 square foot office and relocation of shipping and receiving from the existing plant.  New executive offices, training and call centers will be all bordered by a custom Teknion wall system.  The warehouse portion has an entirely new racking system, charging stations and will-call department.  The design includes a building connector to the existing facility that will house a new cafeteria and break room for the employees.
