After a recent meeting with Kohl's that delineated the significant challenges they were facing, including building 100 new stores with a redesigned facade in one year, President Kurt Schmitt suggested that the general contractors could be used as a resource to help streamline their process. The development and construction managers liked the idea, and decided to develop an advisory board to provide input on how to improve the process for everyone involved in their projects.
After sharing the idea with Kurt, they asked him to chair the new committee and he gladly accepted the honor. Over the last several months, he has worked with committee members from around the country to advise Kohl's on suggested process improvements, and has been a presenter at meetings in Milwaukee to provide helpful information to all Kohl's contractors.
Concerning the position, Kurt said, "It is really a fantastic opportunity for us to help Kohl's improve their process. Being appointed to the chairman position is truly an honor that we can all share. Everyone's hard work over the last 16 years to maintain and improve our relationship with Kohl's is the reason that I am in the position to lead the committee today. Thank you for all of your hard work."
