After a considerable pre-construction effort spanning two years, we are excited to celebrate the October 15th groundbreaking of the Mitchell Recreation and Athletic Center.

As the construction manager we are honored to handle the most extensive projects of its kind for Denison’s athletic program; an addition of 78,281 square feet and 202,646 square feet of renovation.  The existing Athletic complex currently houses all of the offices for the athletic department and teams.  Keeping everyone operational year round while renovating the current space and constructing the new natatorium presents considerable logistical challenges.  Starting in the initial planning stages, we worked with everyone in the athletic department over numerous meetings to understand their ongoing needs throughout the project. 

This project includes a new 50 meter long by 25-yard pool and diving well with spectator seating, a training suite, a two-story fitness center, new entry lobby with an Athletic Hall of Fame and numerous offices for staff.

The project is currently in the construction phase and is slated for a Fall 2013 completion, and is registered with the certification goal of LEED ® Silver.
